Louisiana lawmakers are giving President Trump's speech to Congress mostly positive reviews.
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy said he would work with the President to achieve the goals outlined during last night's speech.
Senator John Kennedy tweeted that "the American dream is alive" during the speech, while Congressman Steve Scalise praised the President's "optimistic vision."
Democratic Congressman Cedric Richmond tweeted before the speech that he was missing Mardi Gras activities, but said he expected a "carnival" during the President's remarks.
