Krewe of Artemis Moves to Saturday

BATON ROUGE - With a looming threat of rain, the Krewe of Artemis is moving their parade to Saturday.

Joanne Harvey, President and Captain of Artemis, tells WBRZ that the 15th annual parade was moved 7 p.m. Saturday due to inclement weather. The parade was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.

Harvey said the route will remain the same and the Krewe will parade with over 100 units, including 17 New Orleans style floats and 10 local marching bands.

"The Krewe would like to thank Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome, the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office for their cooperation," a statement from the Krewe said.

Artemis will follow the same parade route as the Krewe of Mistique that starts rolling through downtown at 2 p.m. Saturday.
