Governor Edwards is advocating full funding for the state's Coastal Master Plan to repair eroded coastal marshes over the next 50 years.
He said at a summit this week at LSU that his administration will not cut funding to the $50 billion proposal to go before the legislature in April.
The governor also said that approval of the plan could generate over 10,000 jobs annually over the next decade.
