Special Session: Day 3

This is day three of a special nine day legislative session to figure out the state's budget problems, and it looks like it will take all nine days to get it done.

House Republicans are rejecting the Governor's proposal to use almost $120 million from the state's rainy day fund and make other cuts.  Instead legislators want to cut money from higher education, K-12 schools and prisons, and take only $50 million from the rainy day reserves.

Governor Edwards said no to that plan as a way of closing a $304 million midyear deficit.
