Video Shows Impaired Driver Slamming Into Louisiana State Trooper's SUV

Louisiana State Police released a video Tuesday showing an impaired driver slamming into the back of a Trooper's SUV on I-12 over the weekend.

The incident took place Saturday when State Police received calls of a truck being driven erratically on I-12 westbound near Hammond.

A Florida couple, identifed as Kyle Nadler and his wife, started filming the car with while providing troopers with updates on the truck's position, and eventually captured as the truck veered off the road and slammed into a trooper who had positioned himself on the right shoulder of I-12 west of the Pumpkin Center exit.

"Oh! Oh! Oh!" Nadler can be heard saying on the video. "He just rammed the police officer!"

The driver of the truck was identified as Bradley Burch. Troopers believe he was high on heroin at the time of the crash. Burch was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for DWI, Reckless Operation and Driving with a Suspended License.

The trooper inside the SUV that was hit was not identified. The trooper and Burch suffered minor injuries.

State Police say Nadler and his wife "exemplified the proper approach to notifying law enforcement to a dangerous impaired driver" and ask all drivers to call *LSP (*577) when they need to report a problem.
