They're from different parties, but two of the state's most powerful officials are finding something they can agree on.
Republican Senator John Kennedy wants to ban public officials and their relatives from getting federal contracts for flood reconstruction. Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards supports the idea, but there's some disagreement on how to make it happen.
Kennedy wants Edwards to pass an executive order, but Edwards' spokesman tells The Advocate it's up to the Legislature to make it happen.
