Starting this summer food stamp recipients in seven states, will have the opportunity to use their benefits to shop for food online -- but Louisiana is not among them.
The test program is supposed to allow low income families to order healthy food that might not be available where they live. The program would also help those without transportation to get to stores offering fresh food.
It's not clear when Louisianans might have the opportunity to use the online benefits.
