Experienced Firefighters Can Skip Academy And Apply To Join BRFD

Experienced and certified firefighters are invited to apply for the Baton Rouge Fire Department's Fast-Track Firefighter Program.

Applicants are encouraged to apply if they're currently employed as firefighters and certified as firefighters, hazmat operators, or EMTs.

Eligible candidates will attend an abbreviated training course instead of the usual six-month academy. The BRFD Training Division will provide any additional training needed to get applicants ready for the job.
