Bill Simon, owner of Simple Simon Tire, was killed in an early morning crash Friday.
Simon, 88, was struck by a vehicle while checking his mailbox on Gurney Road.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the crash happened around 5:30 a.m., according to our partners at Louisiana First News.
According to a biography on the Simple Simon website, Simon started the business in 1966.
