Woodlawn HS Accused Of Sneaking Gun Onto Campus In Wheelchair Cushion

A 17-year-old student faces charges for reportedly sneaking a gun into school by hiding it under the cushion of his wheelchair seat.

East Baton Rouge Parish deputies say Kevin Evans III made it through metal detectors at Woodlawn High School with a gun undetected beneath the seat cushion.

Acting on a tip from another student, school officials called Evans to the office and found the gun.

Evans is charged with illegal carrying of a firearm, carrying a firearm on school property, and violating a gun-free zone.
