An escaped Tangipahoa Parish Jail inmate is back behind bars after more than six months on the loose.
Deputies arrested 20-year-old Jamarcus Cyprian at a home in the Hammond area on Wednesday afternoon.
Cyprian, one of four inmates who escaped in May, was doing time for armed robbery and weapons charges.
The Tangipahoa Parish Jail has a history of escapes in recent years. The public wasn't notified about the May escape until ten days after it happened.
The Louisiana Department of Corrections says the jail needs staff training and fence repairs.
