A new Louisiana law that requires the Ten Commandments to be posted in public school classrooms has been put on hold.
Opponents sued, arguing that it is a violation of the separation of church and state. A Federal judge agreed and approved a preliminary injunction Tuesday, saying the law is "unconstitutional on its face."
The law's backers, including Republican Gov. Jeff Landry, have argued that the Bible verse has historical significance.
