Louisiana lawmakers are looking for ways to use artificial intelligence while ensuring personal data is kept secure.
The Joint Legislative Committee on Technology and Cybersecurity met Tuesday to hear from leaders in AI.
The committee expressed concern about state agencies using automated AI decision-making tools to determine if somebody is eligible for government services such as Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP benefits.
They agreed there has to be a human element to oversee the process.
