More federal funds are on the way to Louisiana to help the state reduce flood risk.

Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy said Tuesday the state will receive $206 million from FEMA's Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, the second largest amount of any state.

New Orleans is to receive just over $11 million, with another $51 million going to Gretna and $27 million to St. John the Baptist Parish.

Lesser amounts will go to flood mitigation projects in St. Tammany, Terrebonne, and Lafourche Parishes.
