Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says the state's farmers are working to make up for losses caused by last year's drought.

Strain told the Baton Rouge Press Club on Monday that federal grants have been helpful, and rainfall has been adequate so far this year.

Strain and the state's congressional delegation were able to get more federal funds for the drought-ravaged crawfish industry.

The drought and wildfires did more than $120 billion worth of damage to Louisiana agriculture.
