The new city of St. George is scheduling its first election.
The city has been interested in transferring a two-percent sales tax from East Baton Rouge Parish.
On Monday, city officials approved putting the tax transfer on the ballot for an election on December 7th.
Next up, the city will have to draw up its new districts. Monday's meeting postponed the decision to choose a demographer. That discussion is expected to proceed in two weeks.
