St. George Aldermen Speak To Public For The First Time

Members of the new council of St. George say they plan to hold their first meeting either next week or sometime in the next few weeks.

Three of the breakaway city's five aldermen spoke to some St. George residents on Tuesday.

The first meeting will be at the St. George Fire Department, and will involve setting up the city's government.

The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled in favor of incorporating the city in April, but Baton Rouge officials are still fighting the matter in court.
