A balloon release is planned for this evening at Southern University in honor of a student killed in a traffic accident early Monday.
Police say 18-year-old Khai Walker collided head-on with a tow truck in White Castle. She wasn't wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The Brusly native was a freshman at Southern and was majoring in pre-nursing.
The balloon release will take place at 6 p.m. in the student recreational area.
