The Saints are locking up a key member of their defense with a new contract.
New Orleans and safety Tyrann Mathieu have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension.
Terms were not fully disclosed, but it is reported that Mathieu agreed to lower his salary in 2024 in exchange for adding new years onto his three-year, 33-million dollar deal he signed as a free agent in 2022.
The new deal is worth a total of $13 million.
The three-time Pro Bowler totaled 75 tackles and four interceptions in 17 games last season.
