Landry Signs More Anti-Crime Bills Into Law

Several more anti-crime bills are now the law in Louisiana.

Gov. Jeff Landry was in New Orleans for a bill-signing ceremony on Wednesday.

The legislature passed the bills in the recent special session on crime. Landry focused on crime in his campaign for governor last year, emphasizing violent crime in New Orleans.

The new laws include more civil immunity for police officers, stiffer penalties for carjacking and for selling fentanyl to kids, and allowing more 17-year-old offenders to be tried as adults.
