The Baton Rouge Area Chamber is reporting an increase in the number of jobs in the city in 2023.
The chamber says at least a dozen companies either moved to Baton Rouge or expanded their operations there.
The new activity brought in $430 million in expenditures and 500 new jobs that helped replace some of the jobs lost in the pandemic.
Many of the new positions, especially construction-related jobs, pay well and don't necessarily require a college degree.
