A Chalmette woman is suing to try to keep former President Donald Trump off the Louisiana primary ballot next March.
Ashley Reeb filed suit last Friday in an East Baton Rouge Parish court.
Reeb's petition claims Trump violated the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution by supposedly engaging in insurrection in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.
A similar argument recently led the Colorado Supreme Court to bar Trump from that state's ballot in a move widely seen as partisan.
