School administrators in Zachary are asking parents to keep sick children at home because of a large number of flu cases in students and faculty.

Louisiana schools are dealing with the strain called H1N1, also known as Influenza A & B.

In Tuesday's letter to parents, school officials didn't have the exact number of flu cases that they've seen, but they said there are a large number of absences lately.

The Department of Health lists parishes in the Baton Rouge area in the moderate category of flu-related illnesses.
