A new interim member is now in place on the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board.
On Thursday, the board chose Emily Chatelain to represent District 8.
There were three other applicants for the position that was vacated earlier this month by the abrupt resignation of Katie Kennison.
She resigned via email following a number of contentious meetings dealing with school bus issues and staffing.
Her term was set to expire at the end of 2026.
The board also scheduled a special election for next March.
