Garth Brooks will headline a country music show affiliated with the Sugar Bowl on September 2 at the Superdome.
The announcement on Wednesday said Louisiana's Lainey Wilson and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band also will perform.
Proceeds from the Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff will go toward the efforts of the Allstate Sugar Bowl to support various community programs.
Officials say they hope this event will be the first of an annual series.
Tickets go on sale next Friday at 10 a.m.
