Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy is proposing a measure that would overturn President Biden's student loan forgiveness plan.
The proposal introduced by a group of Republican senators on Monday asserts that Biden's executive action favors a small group of borrowers and leaves behind Americans who hold other forms of debt.
The plan will also cost $400 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer weighed in on Twitter, calling the GOP's efforts "cruel" and "callous."
