Republicans now have a supermajority in the Louisiana Legislature.
The State GOP announced this morning that former Democratic Representative Francis Thompson has switched parties.
Thompson claims his values and principles have not changed, but said he made the switch because the Republican Party now best represents his views.
Thompson is the longest serving member of the Louisiana Legislature.
