Hubig's Pies are finally on store shelves this morning after the repair of a paper-wrapping machine.
The machine broke down at the factory on Monday, delaying the long-anticipated return of the hand-held pastries, a longtime New Orleans favorite.
The Rouses location on Tchoupitoulas Street was the first place to carry the pies at 7 a.m.
A five-alarm fire destroyed the company's factory on Dauphine Street in 2012.
Hubig's had been selling its fruit-filled pies in New Orleans since 1921.
