A constitutional amendment concerning property taxes in Louisiana is on the ballot in November.

The Louisiana Constitution requires all property be reassessed every four years.

One of eight constitutional amendments on next month's ballot would let city or parish governments reassess whenever local officials want, instead of every four years.

A vote for Amendment 5 would give local officials the ability to adjust their property tax collections whenever the need arises. A vote against the amendment would keep the current system as-is.
