The Louisiana Department of Health says the federal government is taking steps to increase the number of monkeypox vaccines available to the public.
The FDA issued an emergency use authorization that allows for alternative dosing of the Jynneos vaccine for people age 18 and up. The move reportedly increases the number of doses by five times.
The FDA's new guidelines on monkeypox vaccinations are effective immediately.
