The recently redrawn Louisiana congressional district map isn't passing federal muster.
A federal judge ruled Monday that the legislature will have to redraw the map again to include another majority-minority district.
Similar to the map used for the past ten years, the new map featured only one of the state's six U.S. Congressional districts as predominantly black, even though about a third of Louisiana's population is black.
On both the old and new maps, the only majority-minority district covers parts of New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
