There are nine sites in Louisiana on the U.S. Civil Rights Trail, and three of them are in Baton Rouge.
The Louisiana Office of Tourism announced the designations on Tuesday.
The old State Capitol was the site of a 1953 bus boycott. The bus sit-ins of 1963 also get a site.
The third is at A.Z. Young Park, named for an activist who presented a list of demands to state officials after a march of more than 100 miles from Bogalusa to Baton Rouge.
