A real estate developer will try a third time today to get the approval of East Baton Rouge officials to build a large subdivision.
The Zachary Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted down the proposed DR Horton development, to be built on Groom Road and Old Scenic Highway.
The parish followed suit in August.
Even the school board and the police department oppose the 350-acre project.
Local schools are already overcrowded, and the police say they don't have the manpower to patrol the new neighborhood.
