A lawsuit is being filed over a decision to put residents from seven nursing homes inside a warehouse to ride out Hurricane Ida.
The class action lawsuits was filed earlier this week in Jefferson Parish.
Attorneys say over 800 people were put inside a warehouse in Independence before the storm, leading to at least seven deaths.
The homes are owned by real estate mogul Bob Dean, who is named in the suit. He told The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate four of the deaths were hospice patients who were "on their way out."
State health officials have revoked Dean's licenses for the homes.
