The federal courthouse in downtown Baton Rouge is moving its hearings back online due to a new Surge in COVID-19.
Authorities announced the new policy yesterday, saying all operations were moving remotely until at least August 16.
All public events scheduled at the courthouse during remote operations are now canceled.
Officials said they made the decision after registering positive coronavirus cases among key staff in nearly every court unit.
