An unidentified person is dead following a drowning accident over the weekend in the Amite River.
Livingston Parish District Four Fire Chief James Wascom said that the drowning happened around 11 a.m. on Saturday near the headquarters of Tiki Tubing.
The death is the second on the Amite River since June when Keith Hilliard, the father of LSU pitcher Ma'Khai Hilliard, drowned while tubing.
Last week, eleven people were rescued from the river while tubing due to strong currents.
