A child is dead after a 15-car pileup involving at least a dozen cars on the Mississippi River Bridge.
The crash happened yesterday morning on U.S. 190.
Louisiana State Police spokesperson Taylor Scrantz said in an interview that at least one tractor trailer struck other cars from behind. As a result, 13-year-old Janaria James later passed away.
Scrantz said others received minor to moderate injuries and received treatment from medical officials.
Officials are still investigating the main cause of the pileup.
