East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome says the parish is moving in the wrong direction as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The news comes after health officials reported yesterday that the parish's positivity rate has risen back up to 5%.
Mayor-President Broome says this rise in cases is concerning as much of the country is in the midst of a coronavirus resurgence.
In a statement, Broome said that if the positivity rate continues to rise in the parish they will be forced to shut down again.
