The East Baton Rouge Metro Council is moving forward with the LSU lakes revitalization project.
On Tuesday, the Metro Council approved the city parish's nearly $5 million budget for the delayed renovations.
Officials say the initial round of funds will cover the first phase of work on the lake system which involves deepening and reshaping City Park, Erie, Campus and College lakes.
The funds will also be used to improve walking and bike paths around City Park and Campus lakes.
