Hurricane Delta made landfall Friday night in Creole, Louisiana - not far from where Hurricane Laura made landfall a few weeks ago.
The National Hurricane Center said Delta was a category 2 storm at landfall with max winds of 100 miles per hour.
"A NOAA National Weather Service water level gauge at Freshwater Canal Locks, Louisiana, recently reported storm surge inundation of over 8 feet above ground level," said the 6 p.m. Friday advisory from the NHC.
