BRPD Denies Kneeling On Suspect's Neck In Viral Video

Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul says two BRPD officers seen in a now-viral video were not kneeling on a suspect's neck.

Paul addressed the video yesterday, saying the two officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while an internal review of the incident is conducted.

Video of the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect taken on July 6th appears to show officers kneeling on his neck while still shots of the altercation show they are kneeling on his back.

BRPD officials say it is against policy to kneel on a suspect's neck, but kneeling on their back is allowed, and a technique to do it safely is taught at the academy.
