Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is sitting with protesters to discuss change.
In a private meeting Tuesday, Mayor Broome met with a group of college students who organized the peaceful protests around Siegen Lane to talk about their concerns.
The mayor says she agrees the protests thus far have been a far cry from the chaos of the Alton Sterling demonstrations in 2016 and that there's a real "thirst for justice."
Broome says she plans on keeping the lines of communication between protesters and lawmakers open.
