LifeShare Blood Center in Baton Rouge says it will offer free COVID-19 antibody testing to those who donate.
Senior Director Benjamin Prijatel confirmed yesterday that those who donate would be given a test for the antibodies, and anyone who has already recovered from the illness is welcome to donate as well.
Researchers have seen success in the treatment of coronavirus patients with blood and plasma given by people with COVID-19 antibodies.
The free testing will be offered at LifShare's mobile donation sites beginning today and lasting for the next two weeks.
