An experimental but promising treatment for COVID-19 is coming to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Hospital officials confirmed yesterday they would be participating in a trial program to offer the experimental drug remdesivir to critical COVID-19 patients.
The drug has shown promising signs of preventing the virus from replicating inside the body.
Beginning next week, patients at Our Lady of the Lake will start receiving the drug, which must be administered intravenously over five to ten days.
