Economists say LSU's national championship season is putting extra money in your pockets.
Officials say this year people are pumping even more money into the local economy because of LSU's success.
The university says it has seen a five-percent bump in applications during the middle of January, compared to its usual pool of applicants at this time.
In a statement, Baton Rouge economist Loren Scott said the success of the Tigers is simply causing people to open up their wallets and celebrate.
