East Baton Rouge Parish is breaking records but for all the wrong reasons.
According to a report from the EBR's Coroner's office, there were 131 overdoses in the parish last year, surpassing 2017's record of 111.
The report said of the 131 overdose deaths, at least 70 were caused by Fentanyl.
East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner Doctor Beau Clark believes the way to fix the problem is to stop the illegal trade of narcotics and is urging doctors to treat patients with addictions carefully.
