A Deputy Warden is being demoted following a review of an incident during a rapper's visit to the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center.
Department of Corrections officials said yesterday they had completed their investigation into the incident where rapper Kevin Gates was able to enter the prison with a large amount of cash he later held in his hands while posing for pictures.
The DOC report says a mandatory body scan was intentionally skipped during the visit.
As a result of the incident, Deputy Warden Perry Stagg has been demoted and transferred with a reduction in pay.
