Tropical Depression Seven formed in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico Tuesday.
Its maximum sustained winds were at 35 miles per hour, and a strengthening into Tropical Storm Fernand is expected by tomorrow.
Its time in the Gulf is expected to be brief as the system is expected to move towards the northern coast of Mexico and make landfall Wednesday night.
