No injuries are being reported after fires broke out Saturday afternoon in three of the four East Baton Rouge Parish Prison buildings.
Officials say the fires apparently started in the air conditioning units as the result of power surges.
About 400 of the prison's 1,400 inmates were evacuated into the prison yards until the flames could be extinguished and the smoke cleared.
