A worker is dead after falling 14 feet at a school construction site in Ascension Parish.
Authorities say the deceased subcontractor on the Bullion Primary School project in Prairieville has been identified by family members as Duane "Peanut" McLaughlin. The 52-year-old from French Settlement died at the hospital following the Monday morning accident.
All construction at the new school has been halted while the incident is investigated.
